Ierapetra, Greece, April 17, 2019 - The southernmost volleyball courts of Europe were buzzing with activity, Wednesday morning, as more than pupils from the primary schools of Ierapetra gathered for a day of mini volleyball action, ahead of the 2019 Men's Greek Cup Final Four.

Ierapetra, on the southern coast of Crete, which bills itself as the southernmost town of Europe, hosts the country's top men's teams with defending Cup holders PAOK Thessaloniki meeting Olympiacos Piraeus and Foinikas Syros taking on Iraklis Thessaloniki in Friday's semifinals. The winners will meet on Saturday in the final.

The mini volleyball tournament, one of the Final Four side events was jointly organised by the Municipality of Ierapetra, the regional Education Board and the Hellenic Volleyball Federation, under the supervision of the Crete-based National Volleyball Coaches Nikitas Nikitakis and Manolis Manolakis and the physical education teachers of the schools.

The activity was held at the outdoor courts of the Coastal Stadium on Ierapetra's waterfront, just off the town centre, facing the Libyan Sea at the southernmost geographical extreme of Europe.
