Seventh straight national league title for Olympiacos
Olympiacos Piraeus claimed on Wednesday their seventh straight title in the Greek women’s national league, thus capping a perfect season as the ‘Reds’ had previously won the Greek national cup as well. In the championship series, Olympiacos faced AON Pannaxiakos and sealed their seventh crown with a clean sweep of three wins in a row.
Their team leader and setter, Stella Christodoulou received the award for the Most Valuable Player of the Greek national league.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate Pannaxiakos on their fabulous season. The season ended in a perfect way for us and we are very happy that we won the championship and the Greek Cup. I would like to dedicate the title to our injured players, Saskia Hippe and Katerina Giota,” said Christodoulou.
