English ,

Piraeus, Greece, May 31, 2019 - In a match the in all likelihood will decide first place in the pool, Greece host Austria Saturday evening in the Piraeus suburb of Rentis for Pool A of the 2019 Men's European Silver League. This is a rematch of last week's game in Innsbruck, which saw Austria victorious in four sets.

After two match days, Austria remain undefeated, with Greece standing at 1-1 following a win at home on Wednesday over Hungary.

Austria have only beaten Greece five times in 25 head-to-head encounters, including last week's match. Greece last bear Austria in 2017 in five sets at World Championship qualifiers.

"This match against Austria is like a final," said Greece setter Dmytro Filippov. "We win, we advance; we lose, we're out. Let's not kid ourselves: our main goal this year is the European Championship - but this doesn't mean the European League is not important for us."
