Belgrade, Serbia, July 20, 2018. The CEV President’s office in Belgrade played host on Friday to a high-profile meeting between CEV President Aleksandar Boričić and a delegation from the Hellenic Volleyball Federation, composed of the President, Mr Georgios Karampetsos and Director, Mr Periklis Bakodimos.

Following the meeting, the CEV President underlined that “Beside certain difficulties that the Hellenic Federation has been facing in the past and their absence from international Volleyball activities, it is my great pleasure to hear that they have set their clear objective to get back on the international scene.”

In their aspiration to obtain this goal, Mr Karampetsos and Mr Bakodimos expressed the wish to organise one age group European Championship soon, as well as to be the host of one stage of the 2021 ‘senior’ European Championship.

I have received an invitation to visit Greece and I will travel there to support the further development of the sport in Greece when meeting with their highest State and sports authorities. We will discuss Greece’s participation in major European events, but also in the CEV ‘Volleyball at School’ project and further development activities in Beach and Snow Volleyball,” the CEV President continued.

Both the Hellenic Federation and the CEV are looking forward to joining forces and working closely together to grow the game as well as the overall popularity of Volleyball in Greece.
