Alexandra Reid: «Excited for the playoffs and the Greek Cup final-4»
Alexandra Reid, Pannaxiakos outside hitter is the MVP on the 19th round of Women's Volleyleague. 25year old American gave an interview for her first MVP award and about her life in Naxos.
Where do you dedicate this award?
«I first dedicate this award to my team because i can’t accomplish anything without them, every point, every game they are beside me fighting. And second I dedicate it to my family and friends back home that have been supporting me while I am playing abroad».
How is your life in Naxos since you came in Greece?
«I love the Greek culture and language. And Naxos has become my home. The people here have made me feel very welcome, which is a nice feeling when I am far away from my home and family for such a long time».
Pannaxiakos qualified for the Cup final-4 and he will play in the playoffs. What's your opinion for the rest of the season?
«I am excited for the playoffs. I think it’s the time when anything can happen, and it is every team’s last opportunity to give their best performance and play with their hearts. Qualifying for the final four for cup is also something that both the team and I are very proud of and excited for. We expect good competition and are ready to give our best».
What do you like the most in Naxos and what are you doing on your free time?
«When the weather is good, the best thing is to go to the beach or sit outside in the sun, drinking coffee (Freddo Espresso) and looking at the beautiful water».
How different style of volleyball is in the US and in Europe?
«I think the first difference I noticed was in the US the middles attack more often, and we tend to run more combination plays with all the attackers. And the second thing I noticed was the difference style of how receivers take the ball. But I enjoy being exposed to different styles, it helps me learn and develop my skills».
