The team of Greece seized on Saturday a very important victory in their away match vs. Sweden (3-0). The Greek players took the control of the match from the very beginning and didn’t let any big surprises.

1. Thanks to their impressive 3-0 victory on away soil in Örebro, Greece are topping Pool G with a maximum number of points (6) after two matches played.

2. Greek setter Dmytro Filippov had an excellent game and was chosen as the MVP of the visitors. The libero Johan Eriksson was named the best player in the Swedish team respectively.

3. Saturday’s match in sportshall Idrottshuset in Örebro is part of a highly anticipated sports weekend in Örebro, where both the grand finals of the Swedish Beach Tour (the Swedish elite Beach Volleyball tour) and a total of two Volleyball #EuroVolley qualifier tournaments are taking place.

David Pettersson, middle-blocker of Sweden: "We did not really get anything out of our service, and at the same time Greece played really good in their reception, so we had a hard time catching them in our block. They had a really easy game, unfortunately for us."

Dmytro Filippov, setter of Greece: ”We played like a team! Our reception was really good and that made things easy for me as a setter. I think that this game maybe is the best that we have played in the past three or four years. We played with passion and we really wanted to win, having in mind that we knew that a victory on Saturday would make our chances to qualify for the Final Round of #EuroVolleyM greater”.
