Last Friday 02.02.2024 the presentation of the European ERASMUS+ program "WHISTLE" in cooperation with the Petroupolis Gymnastics Club was successfully held at the gym of the 1st General High School of Petroupolis.

The team of the European Programmes of the HELLENIC VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION consisting of Asterios Patsiaouras (Team Leader), Eirini Charafia, Katerina Moustaka Ila Panagiota Ioakeim, informed the excellent audience consisting of the Board of Directors of the club, the coaches, the athletes of the club (Under18 & Under18), as well as parents of the athletes, for the program concerning Verbal Sexual Harassment in sports and ways of dealing with it.

WHISTLE is an Erasmus + Sport European project implemented in cooperation with 6 countries (Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy and Poland).

The aim of the WHISTLE project is to prevent and combat verbal sexual harassment (VSH) more commonly known as catcalling in sport, especially in organised sport. These behaviours negatively affect the performance of women in sport and are causes for leaving organised sports and barriers that restrict people from engaging in physical activity outdoors.

The Hellenic Volleyball Federation would like to thank the Petroupolis Volleyball Club for hosting the representatives of the Federation in the premises of the Club and the President of the GSP Mr. Alexandros Saprikis for the excellent cooperation and coordination of the action.
