Students of IEK Omiros visited the offices of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation
On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, students from the 1st and 2nd year of the Coaching and Physical Therapy departments at IEK Omiros, from Athens and Piraeus, visited the offices of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation (HVBF) at OAKA.
After touring the Federation's offices, there was a presentation by Mr. Nikos Sofianos, the Director of the Federation, on the organization and operation of the Federation.
The structure of beach volleyball was also presented by Mr. Alekos Paraskevopoulos, the Head of the department, along with the coaching characteristics by Mr. Manolis Roumeliotis, the Head of the National Teams.
Students were informed about volunteer opportunities that may arise in volleyball and beach volleyball events.
Finally, the European Erasmus+ program "WHISTLE" was presented, focusing on verbal sexual harassment in the sports environment and ways to address it.
The program was presented by the team of HVBF's European Programs, consisting of Asterios Patsiaouras (Team Leader), Katerina Moustaka, Eirini Charafia, and Ila Panagiota Ioakeim, along with the Greek partners of the program from KEAN, Ms. Dimitra Sofianou, and Ms. Reina Melissinou.
