Τhe first official presentation of the European program "Whistle"
On Thursday, December 22 , the first official presentation of the European program "Whistle" took place to the A' and B' category Volleyball coaches.
The event was attended by the President of HVBF Mr. Georgios Karampetsos, the Mayor of Moschato - Tavros Mr. Andreas Efthimiou, the Deputy Mayor for Coordination of Sports Activities and Coordination and Supervision of Civil Protection of the Municipality of Moschato- Tavros Mr. Georgios Fellas, the president of ESPEDA Nektarios Chalvatzis and the representatives of GGA .Mr. Vasileios Kakkos and Mrs. Anastasia Skamagi.
The event was presented by Mr. Asterios Patsiaouras, Member of the Board of HVBF and Head of European programs, together with Federation's partners Mrs. Eirini Charafia, Ila Ioakeim, and Katerina Moustaka, where, among other things, he stated that the “Whistle” program refers to sexual harassment in sports and physical activity, especially verbal sexual harassment (VSH), better known as catcalling.
It is a phenomenon that significantly affects many women who no longer feel free to train or do physical activity in public places and lead them to abandon sports.
Surveys from around the world show that some men as well as the majority of women have experienced or witnessed some form of sexual harassment.
Now is the time to make our sports centers safer and more comfortable places for everyone to feel free to exercise.
